30 years from NOW

Thirty years from now the world will not have changed as much as most expect. I believe that we will make leaps and bounds in the technological world but will there be teleportation devices or robots in every household? I think not. The United States will fall farther from glory in another 30 years, China will take over as the dominate world power and with that will come the most important changes. Some of the realistic changes worldwide i believe will come in the health and fitness industry. Fat loss pills will be affordable and available to most and unlike steriods i think a healthier alternative may be made available to help pack on muscle. Cancer will still be a problem but treatment will be cheaper and more successful. The Aids epidemic will come to halt as a cure will be found and spread worldwide. A few technological improvements in automobiles may make driving safer, faster, and more eco friendly but where the alternative fuel will come from im not sure. I think household improvements to expect 30 years from now can include touch systems and voice activated controls. But no one can ever say whats to happen in the future for that decision is not made today but yesterday.

The Skunk Ape Tutorial

I found this tutorial to be very helpful and interesting. Most of the information i learned from the tutorial i had not known about previously. I believe this should be mandatory for all incoming freshman to see, like most people i had no idea the amount of information the library datebase held. Most of my information used for essays is found on the first page of google. While this method is convenient the information may not always be from a legitimate source or even factual to begin with. The database has much more information then i could have imagined and before the tutorial it seemed like a complex maze. Although students dont normally cheat, the tutorial spent too much time covering plagiarism. Overall the tutorial was a great addition to my English composition two class and made for an interesting few minutes.

The unorthodox teaching style major payne uses to teach these kids his hilarious and shows the strong difference between kids and men. Major Payne treats these kids like he would his own men in the army, and after much resistance his troop develops and respects him. The new cadets are almost ready to enter a military competition when the army recalls Major Payne and offers him a new job. He had to leave the cadets for a higher paying job after bonding and training these kids. Zoolander

Derek Zoolander is a world famous male model that has won every award and graced almost every magazine spread but a new male model challenges his throne and hilarity ensues in this comedy about the male modeling profession. Derek Zoolander lives in a posh penthouse in New York and lives the life, partying every night, women all around him, and money to spend. Hansel, a rival male model, upsets Derek in the Male Model of the Year contest and they develop a hate for one another. Mugatu is a fashion designer that decides to take advantage of Dereks stupidity and fall from grace to brain wash him. Mugatu needs to lower the price of clothing and the prime minister of Malaysia recently banned child labor laws and coincidentally is attending a runway show where Derek will be walking. Zoolander and Hansel end up meeting in a club and despite there issues decide that they have alot more in common then they thought. Mugutu, unaware of Derek and Hansel teaming up, still plans to have the minister killed at the show. At the show, Derek stops a Chinese tri star blade with his looks and muguta is taken away by the cops. Zoolander is a hilarious movie that is a must watch for comedy buffs.

Less Privacy is good for us (and You) Discussion 2

Once a criminal always a criminal. Does that mean somebody who commits a crime should not be allowed to move to another state and start his life all over? I believe that people make mistakes and should be allowed to repent and with a certain amount of time there private matters should be private. Nowadays if a sexual predator moves into an area all the residents are alerted of his/her past mistakes. The most important thing, I believe, is that these offenders try to live an ordinary life and if the public is aware that the nice neighbor is really a sex offender it could affect both parties negatively. Privacy is under attack in today's society because of all the recent advances in technology and the public deserves to keep some privacy despite all the public information out there. Etzioni discusses in the article how people are being restricted by there pasts everywhere they go, i personally think that if the guilty party has been 15 years without an incident their public information should become private and only available for view to government agencies. Its unfair to this individual to restrict his rights to work and privacy.

Immokalee's Future

Immokalee a small city northeast of naples has beeen through many agricultural periods and it looks like the future for this farming town may be in the hands of Ave Maria Univeristy and the Seminole Casino. Ave Maria has the potential to be the next Univeristy of Notre Dame and potentially turn the small city of Immokalee into a busy college town. The Casino also attracts people from all over Southwest Florida to eat, drink and gamble. The additional income in Immokalee could be used to help farm workers as well as building better schools. The American Dream seems like it is staying in Immokalee for years to come with the construction of Ave Maria; which gives people the chance to further there education and succeed. Immokalee has a bright future as long as people dont spend there paychecks at the Casino.

“A Quilt of a Country: Out of One, Many?”

The author talks about how america was put together and how it went from a small union to a thriving diverse collection of cultures and different races. The first Americans were minorities and people trying to find fortune and successes and that has not changed at all. The United States is one of the greatest and strongest countries on the planet and thats because a country is a reflection of its people. The diveristy of america is unlike any other country in the world since even the smallest minority has a voice everyine has a chance to make the country better.

Many countries out there dislike the United States but would give anything to live here and be given a chance at success. America and its people do what they can to help out struggling nations and strive to bring peace. Although America may be founded on multiple cultures its united as one and its called the UNITED STATES of AMERICA.
