Immokalee's Future
Immokalee a small city northeast of naples has beeen through many agricultural periods and it looks like the future for this farming town may be in the hands of Ave Maria Univeristy and the Seminole Casino. Ave Maria has the potential to be the next Univeristy of Notre Dame and potentially turn the small city of Immokalee into a busy college town. The Casino also attracts people from all over Southwest Florida to eat, drink and gamble. The additional income in Immokalee could be used to help farm workers as well as building better schools. The American Dream seems like it is staying in Immokalee for years to come with the construction of Ave Maria; which gives people the chance to further there education and succeed. Immokalee has a bright future as long as people dont spend there paychecks at the Casino.

I found these videos to be very helpful, seeing as i knew nothing about Immokalee in the first place. Immokalee has a very bright future ahead of them because the town will continue to grow and flourish yearly. The casino is gona do wonders for that town, and like FGCU the Ave Maria University will only expand and become more populated. We could see big things from Immokalee and its people down the road, but for now we will just have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteImmokalee has come so far and still has so far to go. Immokalee seems to be a booming farm town and on their road to become a booming college town too. It is incredible to see what such a small town can do for themselves.
ReplyDeleteComing from Texas i had no idea about Immokalee so seeing these videos really helped me understand more about the seminole indians and the agricultural region on southern Florida. I think Immokalee is going to increase highly production and population wise at the rate its going at now.
ReplyDeleteImmokalee is not much different from the town I grew up in. I think the “old” American Dream is still intact by the way farms and crops are still so important, but the “new” American Dream is making its way through the new University and casinos. With Immokalee adding these types of attractions, more people will become aware of this small town. Like Florida Gulf Coast, there school will start out small but will gradually expand as people become more acquainted to the area and what it has to offer. I think within the next decade, Immokalee will become more populated and popular.
